PLEASE
REMEMBER: Our "cheezeball rating" system
is NOT comparable to a "star rating" system. We are NOT rating
the albums; we are rating the "cheeze content" of the albums.
The cheezier we find an album, the more cheezeballs we award it. We
don't like cheeze. Thus, if we award an album 4 or 5 cheezeballs, it
is clear that we find the album distasteful. That said, however, please
do not assume that a lower cheezeball rating automatically indicates
a better album. A lower cheezeball rating merely indicates a lower cheeze
content. And if
you're having a problem with the term "cheeze," here's a provisional
definition: "a nauseating aesthetic based upon the glorification
of that which is schmaltzy, syrupy, sappy, sentimental, saccharine,
slick, corny, overwrought, hackneyed, etc...think Wayne Newton, all greased up, decked
out in rhinestones, and wearing way too much cologne." For a listing
of musical elements we find cheezy, check out The
Cheezeball Manifesto.
